limitation to amount ofcertain FXs?

hi.just relised this a while ago.i set my FXs up (mainly AVIs) and it seems like there's some kind of limitations on how many AVI FXs you can put up on the grid.i couldnt put any more AVI FXs once i reached a certain amount.n to put up another AVI FX, id have to remove an AVI FX from the grid before hand.
why is that so??
